Getting our sea legs and apparently NO more pets for me.

Happy February!
We're just trucking along here in Sunny Florida.....enjoying the winter weather. And by winter, I mean we've had a few days without running the a/c! I'm a happy girl.

Back in November the Coach purchased a fishing boat.
Me: "You're so busy with work and coaching....when will you have time to fish?"

Alas, he's making time to fish. And it makes him so happy and that makes ME so happy.
Hey, it always comes back to me. Right?
*snicker snicker*
He actually was able to persuade me to go out with him one day just prior to Christmas.
And by 'persuade', he gave me his sweetest smile and batted those puppy dog eyes in my general direction.
I'm a sucker for him.

We had a great day out on the gulf of Mexico. The weather was nice, a bit windy (MY HAIR!) but nice.

I was finally able to see the Dome Houses of Cape Romano that I've heard so much about. If you have a minute, go read the link. It's pretty interesting and they won't be here forever....they're sinking.
One thing I absolutely love about the gulf of Mexico is the playful porpoises. They're everywhere!
I was absolutely stunned when the Coach told me that I couldn't have one (or a pair?) for myself

Serisouly....we've got that huge pool just sitting there waiting for my pet porpoises! The injustice of it all.

He's fishing more for the fun of it rather than feeding us on it. BUT, we did have some great mangrove snapper this week from one of his trips....and OhEmGee. It was 'slap your mama' good.
Sorry Mom.

So, that's the fun we're having. How about you?
XO

You two are amazing.... I love it that you both have SO much fun together... I was so busy before retirement --that I don't think I did many 'fun' things during those days. Then I met George. Then I retired.. Then he retired... NOW --it's ALL fun for us....

Hugs,
Betsy

It sounds as if you are both happy about that fishing boat. Perhaps, if you keep going out with him, you'll get those porpoises for your pool after all.

Great to hear your both enjoying time out on the waves together! Really unusual and amazing Domes!
Keep on truckin' as the saying goes and have a fun weekend!

Greetings, Suz,
I enjoyed your description of your winter weather... not using your AC...haha! It is currently 10 degrees here, which is cold, but considering that it could be below zero, I am not complaining! Oh, and I'd love to have some of your fresh fish! Enjoy what's left of the weekend. Take care, ~Natalie

Sounds like a nice relaxing way to spend the day..out on the water. I think you need some new friends in your pool, though. What's a mom supposed to do when some of her chickadees fly the coop? Just sit and look at an empty pool? I think not. ; )

I can't leave the house these days without my coat, my scarf AND my knee high boots. I. Am. Jealous :)

We've had rain, rain, rain here. I know it's the Pacific NW, but it's been an obscene amount! I think I may just move to Florida :) You've got some extra room, right? :)

I love the dome houses. Too bad they're sinking.
No porpoises for you? That is cruel!
Steve spent many years as an avid trout fisherman. Not my thing. I'm glad I finally convinced him that horseback riding has its virtues.

i have to check out those dome houses, i have never heard of them before...and i think the coach is being awfully selfish about the porpoises! hope you are well!!
